Thistle Weed Description
The Khakibos from Thistle & Weed is a blend of five varieties sourced across different areas of the Western Cape.
Verdelho from the Helderberg Mountain, Chenin Blanc from Paarl, Palomino, Fernao Pires and Alvarinho from the Breede River.
They all combine into a fresh and lively wine that's a feast for the senses - citrus, orange blossom and toasty notes entangle with an electric line of acidity that finishes with a big bang of tang and zing. Superb.
"Back in 2018, Khakibos was a pure Verdelho. These days it uses four other "drought- resistant" varieties in the mix - Palomino, Chenin Blanc, Albariño and Fernão Pires - sourced from all over the Western Cape. The result is a thing of wonder, with steely precision, waxed lemon, apple and orange peel flavours and top notes of lanolin and thatch. 2023-28."
