A tank-aged blend of 55% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 15% Carignan, the 2019 Maury Sec Le Sabina del Rey is the "little wine" of the Clos del Rey stable. That doesn't mean it's not dark, concentrated and darn good. Ripe black cherries lead the way, entwined with delicate herbal streaks of garrigue, crushed stone and licorice. Full-bodied and silky-textured, it's surprisingly charming, with a long, softly dusty finish.
