High West’s core Double Rye has a high-spice character and complexity, made by blending two rye whiskies: A 2-year-old rye with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% barley malt.
A 7-year-old rye with a mashbill of 53% rye and 37% corn.
This whiskey undergoes additional aging in cognac barrels, which impart fruity and nutty notes from the brandy-soaked oak. This finishing adds depth and elegance, rounding out the spice with flavors of dried fruits, caramel, and subtle floral hints.
