There’s something about sitting around a fire that teleports us to a place of deep ancestry. I remember hearing ghost stories around camp fires at night when I was a child, and now I really enjoy telling scary stories to my kids when we go camping.
I imagine that some version of those same stories we told to my parents and their parents before them. We also roast marshmallows for s’mores when we camp, just like I did when I was young. When we can’t wait for a camping trip, we’ll make s’mores around the fire pit on the back porch and each talk about how our day was
