We are proud to offer this Rare Character Single Barrel Rye, bottled at a natural cask strength of 116.32 proof after 8 years and 4 months of maturation. Distilled in Kentucky from the classic 95% rye / 5% malted barley mash bill.
Rare Character does not divulge where their whiskey is distilled but this barrel is believed to originate from one of Kentucky's premier contract distilleries, Bardstown Bourbon Company. Older Kentucky-distilled 95/5 ryes are relatively uncommon (this being one of the older ones), making this a unique opportunity to to taste this mash bill at an older age that was not distilled at MGP (this is a common mashbill at MGP). Shows vibrant mint and floral notes layered with baking spices, citrus, cocoa, vanilla, and mature oak, delivering exceptional depth while preserving the bold spice that defines a great rye whiskey.
