The lines between beer and wine are becoming more and more blurred and we can't say that that bothers us. In the past, a clear decision between beer and wine was required, but today there are magical hybrid creatures that conjure up the best of both worlds in our glasses. Breweries often bring experts on board to develop these special brews. The winemakers not only bring their knowledge and expertise with them, they often also have grapes, must or barrels with them.
This also happened with Freigeist Bierkultur's latest creation: Sauerland Oxidation is in collaboration with the winery Dr. Loosen was created and the team from the Middle Moselle supported the brewers with advice, support and grapes. The grape ale they made together has a strong 6.0% alcohol content and has the pale golden color of fine white wine. An olfactory composition of light grapes, freshly cut forest herbs and oak wood fills the air and awakens the thirst for beer. The initial taste reveals a light-footed body with lively carbon dioxide. Light malt meets the fruity sweetness and acidity of white grapes as well as spicy yeast. Sauerland Oxidation is an unconventional enjoyment that both wine and beer lovers will get their money's worth. By the way, oxidation is a term from oenology and describes the effect that oxygen has on wine.
