SHIPPING INFO: IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ CLOSELY BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER!

By placing your order you are representing that you are at least 21 years of age and that any person to whom you are shipping is also at least 21 years of age.

Ownership of the merchandise becomes that of the customer when it leaves our location. It is up to the customer to comply with all local laws and regulations. By proceeding with a transaction, you the purchaser represent that you are acting in a fashion compliant with your local and state law regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of wine. You the purchaser acknowledge that the laws governing the sale and transportation of alcohol beverages vary from state to state. The Wine and Cheese Place makes no representation as to the legal rights of any individual or entity to ship or transport wines into any state outside of Missouri.

A restocking fee may apply in certain conditions if an order is canceled. This applies to orders placed through the website, by phone or email.

Prices online may vary from in store. Prices in the store supplant prices online.


What do we ship?

Per our carrier agreement, we only ship wine. We are prohibited from shipping spirits and beer under our license. If you place an order for prohibited items, we will cancel it ASAP.


How do we ship?

All shipments are via UPS Ground unless otherwise specified. An adult signature is required at time of delivery. Wines are packed in containers designed for shipping wine. The cost of packaging is included in the shipping charge. All packages valued at more than $200 per box are insured.

All orders to Alaska and Hawaii must go 2-Day Air.

We cannot ship to PO, FPO, or APO addresses. We cannot ship outside of the US.

Should you opt to have your purchased order shipped to you via an alternative common carrier, you independently may arrange for shipping, in which case you must provide The Wine and Cheese Place with the relevant details so that we release your package to the appropriate shipping agent. Shipping charges would then be reduced/refunded to just our box and handling fees.


Policy on packing your order:


We reserve the right to adjust your shipping rate based on the type and amount of product you order. Placing a large order with different sized or oddly shaped bottles may require multiple boxes. For example, an order of  15 750ml bottles will be shipped in (1) 12 bottle box and (1) 3 bottle box.

Let us know if you want any original packaging for the product ordered. We do our best to include all original packaging, but may leave it out to ensure the actual product fits into the appropriate box. If the original packaging does not fit in a single box, we can ship it on its own at an additional charge. We will contact you first before adjusting the shipping rates.  


When will my order ship?

Please allow up to 2 business days for your order to be processed. UPS Ground delivers to businesses Monday thru Friday. UPS Ground Home Delivery delivers Monday thru Saturday. Standard Overnight and 2-Day Air delivery denote business days. Saturday and Sunday do not count. If you place a Standard Overnight order on a Friday, it will arrive the following Monday. If you need an Air package delivered on a Saturday, please contact us. Saturday Delivery is not available in all areas, and when available, additional fees apply.


What is our “Warm Weather” policy?

Due to the heat during the summer months, we strongly advise customers not to have their wines shipped until the weather cools in their area. Customers placing orders during this time will be contacted regarding their shipping options. We will store orders until cooler weather prevails. If you elect to ship during this time, we will not be liable for heat damage, raised corks, or leaking product.

What if no one is home to sign for the delivery?

An adult signature is required for delivery. If you are not certain that an adult will be home to sign for the shipment, we strongly suggest that you ship to a business address or the nearest UPS Customer Center. Not all locations accept the same types of packages, so be sure that the one nearest you will accept your package before placing your order.

Once the package leaves the store, it can be difficult to reroute it. Contact us if you need the package to arrive at a different destination. There may be an additional pick up fee to have a package rerouted to UPS Access Point. You will pay that fee to the UPS Store when you pick up your package, which will be held there for up to 5 business days. Rerouting to another residential or business address will incur additional charges also.

Packages returned to us due to an incorrect or undeliverable address may incur return charges. You will receive credit for the returned product, however, the shipping is non-refundable in the event of a package returned under these circumstances.


When is my order confirmed?

When you submit your order, it is not a guarantee that all items are in stock. Some products are of limited availability and sell out quickly. You will receive an email confirming your order. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is confirmed.


POLICY ON IN STORE PICK UP:

We do NOT charge your card for orders placed through the website for in-store pickup unless you request that we do so. You pay at pick up.

Missouri sales tax:

Our website does not calculate sales tax. Missouri sales tax will be applied to all orders that ship within the state. Other state and local taxes will be added when applicable. We can provide you a receipt of the total + sales tax upon request.
