In 1921 the distillation of aniseed was authorized and it was then that Pontarlier-Anis was launched. The Guy Pierre d'Absinthe distillery was founded by Mr. Armand Guy. This is the last family distillery in Pontarlier, where there has been four successive generations of distillers since 1890. In addition to the Absinthe and Pontarlier-Anis, Pierre Guy distillery also produces traditional liqueurs, eaux de vie, appetizers, and semi-candied fruit.
